Our friends in Logistik have some insightful thoughts from outside the industry on the role of Instagram and how it’s a missed opportunity for the industry

We know that Visit Ryedale in our patch are hot on the heels of hashtagged content from their patch, but not sure that others are as active.

Increased ability for English tourists to see/feel/touch their chosen destination (and accommodation) and form views about it before physically arriving – maybe reducing excitement of the new/unexpected – or maybe reducing stress and risk during decision making!

    Hi Viv
Do you think having access to all that information would dampen people’s sense of adventure when planning leisure trips? Or is the importance of this overstated?
One example is the recent trend for ‘mystery flights’ (this Australian example seems very developed: http://www.mysteryflights.com.au/), where people book a holiday, but don’t know where they’re going until they get on the plane.
    Thanks,
