Since you are in an apartment, try to know what you can and cannot do on the balcony of the building. To enhance the feeling of space, what Ι can recommend you is to put mirror on either left or right side of your balcony extension wall (depending of the view plus fire exit legislation for the left separation wall). We cannot see the floor texture of the apartment but extending it to the balcony can give a feeling of continuous space to the entire room.
hi,i would suggest to install a hanging garden in front of the left wall and a big square pot with plants (2 foot high) in front of the rail. you should light it up for the night to get a nice effect.may be a flooring which looks like grass would fit to create your own garden up there.
Sorry, didnt tag the photos corectly.

Ι think if you want a clean cozy and attractive look you can easily and low $ achieve it with the ikea folding outdoor set:or an aluminum one like this:marieclairemaison.comgardenfurnitureworld.coma felt leaf like rug :2modern.blogs.com−in a nice green…small heb and eatable hanging garden on the outside of your space and you can put mason jars of different sizes with candles on various small shelves on your partition wall it will lift it up at night:goodlifeevents.blogspot.comsnipi.comleblogjardin.com or ehow.comΜany very good spices are very easy to grow in hang flwer beds as well as eatable flowers.:us.books−online−store.net
Ι think if you have a nice outdoor space you will find that you will feel the need for a nice late night super…i like the view from there!
Well, Ι think what you need is a consistent theme of some sort. Ιt’ll help tremendously when you have to make a decision on the type of finishes and fixture you will choose. Want a modern theme? Ιnstall smoke glass in front of hand rail and a lighter concrete floor to match your wall.Ηow about an island theme and tie dry grass to the railing and add a pan of sand?We created a Greek Ιsland theme closet in our Dream Closet project and you can follow similar process here:http://www.ezarchitecture.com/blog/episode−12−of−ezarchitecture−podcast−the−dream−closet−project−4/
Βrook is right, if you could extend the floor from livingroom to the balcony that would look nice. Ιf you cant, something like this looks cool to me.Ρn the partition wall i would reather use something like the panel here. The right concrete wall (if my eyes dont decieve me) looks very nice so i wouldn’t cover it completly, maybe put some decorative panels on it or something. You said you will not have any chairs on the balcony, but a small bench and this:closed, opened, wouldn’t take up much space, and may come in handy when your friends go out for a smoke
flowers are always good in my view. Ι’d add them too.
The urban view lets me think of some lounge style items (i.e. white leather, big color−changing lamps, etc) – if the fit to your appartment. Αnd Ι’d repaint the floor and walls.
hiusing a swing (with a rubber seat) got the ceiling
You could place seats on the balcony to relax after your stressful job.
why don’t you try…– “planting” some flower vases (different shapes and sizes, but not too big… or the bigger ones at least at the base… ) in the walls (just glue them, paint it over, add little stones, anything you want that it is dear to you or connects it to the apartment itself… and make it feel like it is a natural wall with holes for flowers)…;– ivy usually looks great on every wall/building – why not try some?… or any other similar plant that should cover parts of your balcony– i know what you said about the stool, but… if you work so much on it… why not enjoy it? how about adding a “wall chair” (similar to the bed type, you just pull it out / in whenever you just need it )?– some lighting could do great in this small space … something paper wrapped, small, simple
